Emergencies & on-call service

How Barbara recognises emergencies and passes them to your on-call service

Barbara's most important job is to tell a real emergency apart from a routine question – and to act correctly in both cases.

Targeted questions instead of guesswork

When someone reports damage, Barbara asks the questions your office would ask: Is water running out, or is it just dripping? Is there a smell of gas? Has the heating failed completely?

The answers determine the classification: danger, urgent same-day job or regular appointment.

When there's danger, safety comes first

If life is at risk or there is a fire, Barbara immediately refers callers to 144 or 118. If there is a smell of gas, she gives the most important safety instructions before anything else.

Trade emergencies go to your on-call service

In the event of a burst pipe or other urgent damage, Barbara gives out your on-call number around the clock – and first the tip that often makes the biggest difference: turn off the main water valve.

Everything else reaches you properly recorded

Barbara prioritises urgent but non-dangerous cases for the same day. She records callback requests with name, address, request and callback number – in a structured way, so the right team can call back directly.

What counts as an emergency and where Barbara forwards calls to is something we define together with your business. Barbara does not make remote diagnoses or give binding commitments.
